"Extra Texture is often described as the worst Harrison solo album (ever worse than Gone Troppo or Dark Horse), but I have to disagree. The great opener, 'You' reminds me of the beautiful All Thing Must Pass sound and the quality of his first real solo album. This Guitar (Can't Keep From Crying) i..."  [+]  Reply

"common suffers from being boring and monotonous at times, its like his voice is TOO smooth that you forget youre listening to it. either way his writing ability and poetic take on hip-hop cannot be ignored, where would we be without "I Used to Love H.E.R."?"  Reply

"One of my favorite jazz albums I've heard in the past few years. Every track is great, especially They Who Must Die, We Will Work (On Redefining Manhood), and 'Til The Freedom Comes Home. This is the perfect kind of album to listen to on a long drive."  Reply

"The 4th Joan Armatrading album is a little more upbeat than the self titled "Joan Armatrading" album that preceded it. It doesn't quite hit the heights that album did but is a good album none the less. Side 1 is brilliant (1-5) especially Warm Love & Never Is Too Late. Side 2 is not as good but c..."  [+]  Reply

"Quivering in the dark, gasping for oxygen, Xiu Xiu's latest appears to be less frantic than recent releases but just as desperate and haunted. "Black Dick" may be the band's own "Frankie Teardrop," a song whose tension can a listener to pure panic. And isn't that what Xiu Xiu is all about. Nothin..."  [+]  Reply
