"Released in 1975 this is a compilation of 14 tracks from their first 3 albums plus the single Fernando. It gelled together as an album though and was a massive seller in the U.K."  Reply

"Little known, highly influential. This is one album that is regularly quoted by the artists listed on lists. If the musicians that are on the lists would create their own lists, this album would regularly be found in the Top 10s. How come this album not gets picked by amateurs? It is likely a pro..."  [+]  Reply

"Best cuts: "Black Pearl", " Da Doo Ron Ron" and "Marshmallow World", although it is hard to pick one best. These first two songs would be in my all time top 10 tracks. "Black Pearl" is the perfect R/B song and it could be the best record ever made IMO,... everything on this song has direction.. f..."  [+]  Reply

"This is a lot to dig into. Five spins in and I feel like I'm only scratching the surface of this one. I was warned before listening that this is Kevin Barnes' most introspective album, and if it really is that's pretty scary. Because this album is scary. Like Scott Walker's The Drift scary. Like ..."  [+]  Reply

"Killer JA LP, and one of the 3 best albums ever released by Studio One (along with Soul Beat by The Gaylads and On Top by The Heptones) in this writer's humble opinion. An important gateway LP for those a little tentative about the genre. This is proto-dancehall delivered with one of the smoothes..."  [+]  Reply

"He recorded 5 albums for Geffen in the 1980's this IMO is the best. Not a great Young album but better than its current position (40th out of 55) As the title suggests it is a folk/country album. Misfits and Bound for Glory are the best tracks."  Reply

"Well, to elaborate a little bit more on jshawnano's comment, think about all those sheogaze revival bands out there right now. Yeah, you notice how the genre seems to just be growing bigger and bigger? Well, thank these guys. Of course it is ultimately MBV that influenced all of the bands, but th..."  [+]  Reply
