"Despite always enjoying the noise that Sonic Youth (and Thurston Moore by himself) produced, this is probably the man's best solo album. He shows off his gentler guitar skills more readily here, and the string arrangements are wonderful. He injects a bit of vim and vigour at times, but for the mo..."  [+]  Reply

"Sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and that's the case with The Highwomen. This supergroup consists of Amanda Shires (whom I like very much), Brandi Carlile (who I like a little bit), Maren Morris (whom I knew only through social media), and Natalie Hemby (whom I'd never he..."  [+]  Reply

"The Divinyls best album period More like a best of rather than studio album , so many killer tracks: "Pleasure And Pain" , "Don't You Go Walking" , "Good Die Young" , "Sleeping Beauty" , "Heart Telegraph" And to think the album was a difficult conception with the band going through multiple produ..."  [+]  Reply

"An absolutely gorgeous work of experimental folk, that just maybe runs a slight bit too long. A Bluish Flickering is especially beautiful, marrying sinister tones, musique concrete, and layers of rhythmic instrumentation building up and then crashes down."  Reply

"I agree that this is hard to sit through the first time around. However, once you give it a few more listens you start to realize just how amazing this album is. Starting off with great songs like Dr. Rock, Sorry Charlie, Pollo Asada, Right to the ways and the rules of the world, this album hits ..."  [+]  Reply

"Really bad. Dull, no good songs and Natalie's vocals are low in the mix, Rob's guitar gets all the prominence, it's no wonder she left. On the two previous albums each song is a story but here you can't even make out what the vocals are saying, let alone be drawn in to them."  Reply
