"Another excellent entry in Adams' recent string of stadium rock and heartland rock. The style suits him well, and adds strength and an edge to the tender lyrics. Recommended."  Reply

"Completely agree with Goliath easily their best album. Punk energy and guitar but also at the same time have that bruce Springsteen full band, honky tonk piano, classic rock n roll sound too which I think makes them stand out from other groups at the time."  Reply

"I'm surprised this album is rated so low. It's no Hot Rats, but it's not THAT much worse. In fact, quite a few of these songs are taken from the Hot Rats sessions, including the best among them - 'Twenty Small Cigars.' 'Tell Me You Love Me' is also very good - just mindless entertainment. 'Transy..."  [+]  Reply

"A good listen. Big heavy synths, big heavy guitars, big vocals. Nothing to be disappointed with. The song structures are really solid. They know when to go off into a jam as well."  Reply

"For a #1 album (largely due to the mammoth success of Bette Davis Eyes) this album is pretty underrated. Almost nothing measures up to the classic lead track but as a whole you get a very solid album here and Kim has an unmistakable voice."  Reply

"A truly great album. Pimp C really came into his own as a producer and - along with Tip/Phife and Ghost/Rae - they complement each other as MC's as well as the best duos in hip-hop. No filler on this album, a landmark in Southern hip-hop."  Reply

"Johnny Cash at his very best. The two Dylan covers are dynamite, and Mama, You've Been on My Mind, Long Black Veil and the title track are among the highlights of Cash's entire catalog."  Reply
