Even though most of these songs don't come close to being as good as the other songs that Carole King was writing at this time, there are three tracks that are so great that it makes the whole album worth it. The original version of The Byrds' Wasn't Born to follow, the originals of Blood Sweat and Tears' Hi Di Ho and Snow Queen. Too bad the album wasn't loaded with more tracks like these ones. Could have been a classic.
Excellent folk rock from Laurel Canyon featuring Carole King in her post-Goffin-King days but pre-tapestry. Some great songs, the most intriguing being the original version of, wasn't born to follow, which The Byrds did a brilliant cover of on their, notorious Byrd brothers, album. The other tracks on this record are fine too.
