Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.8/100, a mean average of 72.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.7.

Great album which continues the great trajectory of Wrecking Ball and Red Dirt Girl. Emmy Lou's Songwriting really shines on this one.
As stated by previous reviewers, it may take some time for this album two sink in. There are no obvious hits, but here are some incredibly delicate ballads some of which may well cause a lump in the throat because of the touching and honest lyrics.
Harris have her personal and strong vocals intact, and her songwriting is really convincing. She wrote or co-wrote all song except the traditional "Plaisir d'amour", the album's only real flop. The song does not fit very well into the whole picture; might have served better as a hidden track.
As mentioned, it is primarily the ballads that move, "Can You Hear Me Now," "Strong Hand (for June Carter) and" Cup of Kindness "are all incredibly beautiful songs performed with great conviction.
Lighter is "Little Bird", one of the album's most charming numbers. Here Harris gets, like on several other tracks, help from the McGarrigle sister.
The opening Track "Here I Am" show from the beginning that Harris insists her new line, where the country-roots are not very obvious.
A fine personal release from an artist who here continues the high standards from her previous albums
