One of the few albums I prefer the extended version of. Suspicious Minds, Don’t Cry Daddy, and Kentucky Rain are all great tracks added on. The baseline on Only The Strong Survive is just fire.

An album created without the overstretched reaches of Parker. Allowed to pick the song and songwriters that Elvis wanted to work with - shout out to the RG who did a complete podcast on it's development. OUTSTANDING!

Yeah, this is good. Feels like he's really starting to command his more present, more soulful voice here.
Arguably Elvis Presley's finest album. After he said goodbye to Hollywood and with the success of his '68 comeback special, Presley was ready to take his music a bit more seriously. Presley's voice is grittier here, more ragged, and, yes, more passionate for probably the first time in years. There are some great songs here in, wearin'that loved on look, in the ghetto, and, long black limousine, which is my favourite track on the album. Presley clawed back a bit of respectability with this release. Great LP.
Suspicious Minds should on this one as well. A near perfect album.
