Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 2% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 81.4/100, a mean average of 80.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.8/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 17.2.

I agree, he's a singles artist, his albums contained far too much filler to be regarded as great albums. One of the greatest artists, no doubt. Any decent music collection must contain one of his 'greatest hits' or 'best of' albums.
Elvis was definitely more of a singles artist than an albums one, which explains why he is ranked lowly on this website. However his debut and 'From Elvis in Memphis' are essential listening for any music fan and you cannot deny the huge impact he has had on global pop culture
He's very influential, but I have to dock points for having too many crappy soundtracks, and for him not being a songwriter
Elvis was one of the greatest Performers for me he not invents Rock he was the genius that spread the Rock and Roll all over the world.
perhaps the greatest hoax in music history - yea he had a face and he had a voice, but thats about it. the title of king of R'n'R doesnt belong to him, artists like Little Richard or Chuck Berry were far beyond Elvis. he didnt contribute much to the music, he only monetized already egsisting genre
Decided to listen to some of his work just to be a little more cultured. Ended up genuinely enjoying it.
Greatest Entertainer who ever lived
Yeah, all kinds of new, earth shattering excitement, but really more flash than substance.
One of the first truly great voices that could match it with great popular music consistently. Perhaps the fact that he wasn't an accomplished songwriter plays against him, but still his legacy is undeniable.
A fantastic performer. His voice is incredibly captivating. Took a movement and attitude already in the works, and took it to another level (his version of blue suede shoes is a much better performance). When he tried to emulate other better rock n' rollers at the time (Little Richard), he couldn't... his version of tutti fruiti doesn't cut it.
Incredibly influential, even if he also performed a lot of terrible songs I'll never want to listen to again.
