Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 39.6/100, a mean average of 37.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 37.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 25.3.

Reports of this album being trash have NOT been exaggerated.
The cover represents how I feel listening to this
There’s nothing redeemable, worthy, or valuable about an Eminem album in 2017. Besides failing to maintain any technical proficiency at rapping whatsoever, a minor respite to prior efforts, he has embraced a parade of no-name, no-value, unimportant producers and features, who otherwise sink him and emphasise his own bad instincts.

Not as bad as people say it is. I had a good time with it when it dropped, but haven't wanted to listen to it since. Poor replay value and some of the instrumental are very simplistic. Eminem's worst lyrical performance ever.
The world did not need a 77 minute Eminem album. We really didn't need— or want— this.
It begins and ends well with the opening track and the last three, but the rest is somewhat forgetable (except for maybe the song "Framed")
First listen:
My god this isn't good. Em's skill level is still high, but he's picked up a few new tricks in this triplet heavy hip hop landscape, and perhaps overuses those same tricks, but that also might just be me.
Some of Em's lyrics here are just not up to par with what I usually expect from such a powerful lyricist. It'd be idiotic and unrealistic to think there would be nothing but brilliant lyrics throughout all 19 tracks, but god damn, "Cause I swear when I get up, I'm never gonna let up 'Til everybody eats my turds"?? That's just one of a number of heavy-handed, lazy hooks this record has to offer. One of the choruses is literally the chorus to ZOMBIE BY THE CRANBERRIES!!! I'm just wondering what made him decide that would be...okay??
This record is not all bad though, I must admit I appreciate the full circle version of Marshall we're seeing on here. On the MMLP1, Slim was writing songs about stuffing Kim in his trunk and throwing her in a lake. Now he's taking a step back and acknowledging his set of faults in their relationship on Bad Husband (even if I don't like the hook of that track). Also, my favorite part of the record might be towards the end when you can hear Em more emotional than ever as he talks about his parents, again taking a bit of a step back unlike previous lyrics like "If you see my dad, tell him that I slit his throat in this dream I had."
Bottom line is we're lucky to still have Marshall and have him making music, as the final seconds of the album allude to. This to me is one of his worst, but second listen here I come.

I´m glad i listened to this album twice, because its much better the second time around. Is it as bad as everyone says? Definitely not. Did it live up to the hype? Ehh. Iḿ not the biggest Eminem fan, and this was only the second album I´ve ever heard of his, so once I hear more, I may change my mind. There are some good songs, there are some bad ones, and a few ¨ehh¨ songs. There´s one or two TERRIBLE songs, like ¨Remind Me¨. GARBAGE SONG. My favorite songs are Walk On Water, Untouchable, and In Your Head. Heat isn´t bad either. Overall, in my opinion, it holds up. For Eminem standards, though, it may be one of his worst. Again, I´m not 100% on that. (P.S. I have no idea why my previous comment is downvoted to hell, I was just saying I´m excited for an album that´s not even out yet, lol)
Oh god. This is going to be a crazy ride.
