Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 70.9/100, a mean average of 70.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.7/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 24.7.

I love the unique way he writes his rhymes. Even when you don't even hear the music but just read the lyrics everything still flows perfectly together, because of the brilliant way the words are put together. Marshall Mathers L.P., Slim Shady L.P. and The Eminem Show are absolute must-listens.

Arguably the greatest rapper who ever lived. He constantly reinvents himself as an artist with a great intellect and sense of humor. His masterpiece is The Marshall Mathers LP but he has consistently produced great work. He’s already had a few “comebacks” because people want to knock him down a peg but he keeps coming.

His level of skills, lyricism and flow is the reason why I rate him so high. He had, IMO the best 3 album streak in hip hop history with SSLP, MMLP and TES but after he released back-to-back mediocre and above average albums, even though some of them contained memorable moments. Even if his beat selection is sometimes highly questionnable, he is always able to tell a story and make the song interesting. I consider him to be top 5 greatest rapper of all time even if I don't particularly appreciate half of his discography.

Slim Shady LP, Marshal Mathers LP, and The Eminem Show are classics and some of the best albums of hip hop, but his later work is meh. There were defiantly highlights tracks, like When I'm Gone, Not Afraid, Headlights, and Be Careful What You Wish For. But there are a lot of mediocre tracks as well

He's immature, offensive for the sake of being offensive, unnecessarily violent in an attempt to be edgy, and most of his references and punchlines are horribly dated to the point of becoming unintelligible and frankly not funny. But there's no denying that with the way he strings rhymes together and flows for days on end, Eminem is one of the greatest rappers to ever live. He just makes it all seem so easy.

His robotic flow really gets boring and repetitive.
