A great big double album with plenty of great songs - 12 of the 33 are great, great songs including Trouble With Dreams, The Other Shoe, Things the Grandchildren Should Know and the too short "Dusk: Peach In The Orchard"
The Eels or Mark E's greatest moment. Blinking lights, is a lovely concept album of life, and is an Americana classic. Some great tracks, especially closing cut, the grandchildren should know, it's one of the most beautiful and emotional songs I've ever heard. A masterpiece.
Because of the little instrumental tracks/vignettes this is not an album that is easy to rate solely on tracks alone but as a whole is second only to Electro Shock Blues in the Eels studio catalogue. It may take a couple of listens to really grow on you so don't give up on it!

While I think "Electroshock Blues" was E's magnum opus, this is pretty close. A truly special songwriter.
