An album of contrasts - the howling rock of the opener, immediately followed by the mellow The Look You Give That Guy, for example. But, as always, a good Eels album but not a favourite of mine. The tracks are consistently around the 7.5-8.5/10 mark, but no real 'E' classics here, apart (maybe) from perhaps the simplest track on here, All The Beautiful Things.

Eels, at a point, became little more than singles and filler. The filler's not bad, but it's still filler.

Fresh Blood and What's a Fella Gotta Do were the best. Most of the others are pretty good too.
