Boarding House Reach casts a wide net, but I would say that I enjoyed most of it. It may not have a lot of Jack White staple tracks, with the exception of Over and Over and Over, but I think its an experiment that ended up paying off.

Favorite tracks: Over and Over and Over, What's Done is Done, Corporation

Love this album a whole lot and don't understand a lot of the hate it's gotten. It's meant to be a fun and all over the place piece of work. I'm not always a fan of music that jumps around a lot or experiments with weird sounds but Jack White gets a lot of things right here that just click with me.

All of the short skits and spoken word passages are sometimes so out there that I can't help but laugh and enjoy what he comes up with. This will be one of my favourite albums of the year, at least top 5 and could be one of my favourite rock albums of the decade.

Awesome stuff 9/10

Love it. Probably even more than his first two solo albums. He's finally freed himself from the shackles of the blues and is allowing himself to just have fun and be playful without having to represent what has become his 'brand'. Those who say he's taking himself too seriously confuse me - lyrically this album is hilarious (Corporation?!) and it is clearly intentional in its genre-hopping and musical frivolity. It reminds me a lot of Odelay-era Beck, which is always a good thing.

great rock album, Jack White demonstrates that he still has it within him and makes a point of carrying the torch of rockn roll with him

Awful! Jack White has gone too far trying to be something he is not with this album. Too produced for his style, strip everything back down to the basics is where Jack needs to live.

Jack White finally tapped back into the loud, fuzzy, noisy electric side of himself for an entire album. I've been waiting for a long time to hear it, and it definitely isn't a let down. It's pretty out there, but totally worth digging into if you wanna hear something different yet still familiar enough to easily rock out to.

Boarding House Reach may be ideal for fans of Jack White, but can also be alienating to those unfamiliar with the musician. As a member of the former category, the album was an overall mixed bag. I admire the ambition behind it, but I'm not sure if it was completely successful.

Apparently this album is the new marmite - you either love it or you hate it. I personally enjoyed it.
