Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Shortlisted for album of the year at the 2013 Grammys. The winner was Babel by Mumford & Sons
I have been a White Stripes fan ever since I was seven, and they were the first band I ever loved. The Raconteurs are probably my 3rd favorite band of all-time. I don't think it's possible for a band to sound anymore badass than the Dead Weather. However, while I like Jack's solo albums, they don't resonate with me as much as his bands. The first two albums were good but not great. Boarding House Reach was a step in the right direction, though.
One of the few true innovators in rock music right now. Amazingly talented and ground breaking. Wonderful.
I love Jack White's music. He really rediscovered himself on Blunderbuss. His lyrics and musical creativity absolutely shone. He has a lot of respect towards rock's history, and I give him props for that as well. Lazaretto is pretty good as well, but it's a little messy.

Everything from De Stijl through the Raconteurs through Lazaretto ranges from interesting to brilliant. One of the ten best ever imho.

Now that we have a taste of this guy, we all know that he is a great musician. He won't make another groundbreaking album like Elephant again, but he still makes great music.
