Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 9% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.0/100, a mean average of 74.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.2.

I always felt J.W’s work lacked the necessary variation for me to really appreciate his catalogue with the heard one heard ‘em all quote holding largely true & it was for this reason I really enjoyed the quieter and mood filled ‘Entering Heaven Alive’. So here on ‘Fear Of The Dawn’ Mr White tries with a concept album of sorts best encapsulated on key track “Eosophobia” and its “Reprise” which loosely translates to a Greek philosophy in relation to a literal fear of the dawn arriving and the album is chock full of such references (“Into the Twilight” , “Morning Noon and Night” etc)
And I’ll give credit where credits due for Jack trying something “different” but unfortunately its all been done before - simply look no further than The Smashing Pumpkins ‘Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness” and it Dusk To Dawn / Dawn To Dusk split and even way back to The Moody Blues ‘Days Of Future Passed’ and its phases within 24 hours
Ultimately though, its just more of Jack White being Jack Whiteish

Wow, this one blew me away in terms of the pure sonics and experimentation. Was much more proggy than I'd maybe anticipated but in the aggressive, complex riffy Yes 'Close to the Edge' kinda way as opposed to something more lofty and bloated. A rock album as lean as they come.
Wow!!
This is great

Exelent! The best Jack White's album
My favourite album of 2022 (so far).
Some of the best and most interesting music Jack White has created is on here
A few of the songs are jams that can sound a bit unfocused at times and White occasionally sounds like a caricature of himself, but he does it in a way that welcomes reinvention and I love the high energy here. There are some weirder more experimental moments that threw me for a loop and were very cool. Sometimes the funky rhythms and melodies hit just right and it sounds really nice. A good amount of guitar power, too. I am starting to appreciate this album more as I keep listening. I like this one and Boarding House Reach more than his first two solo albums (although I prefer most of the stuff from The White Stripes, Raconteurs, and Dead Weather over any of his solo material). I would say this is experimental but not quite as much as Boarding House Reach and the overall sound is about as heavy as Jack White has ever been. My favorite song is the final track. It has a nice groove, awesome lyrics, and the guitar and vocals are very intense.
