A perfectly fun piece of adolescent angst. More importantly, Taylor Swift's self-titled debut gives us an artist whose clearest talents are already well-honed. I would not say Swift is fully formed, but the bones of what have made her an enduring artist--strong storytelling whose specificity breeds universality, and warm, accessible musicality--are present and strong.

I don’t remember Taylor Swift being popular at all back in 2006 and 2007.

This was the start of something beautiful. Each album only gets more incredible. This is the least poppy but half of it is still strong against the rest of her discography. A must-listen for fans of hers
