Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Delightful collection of power pop, melodic and fast paced. There best for me. Sometimes captures a lost relationship perfectly
A superb rock album with pop melodies, this is their step into the mainstream
Walking Barefoot, Shining Light, Burn Baby Burn ==> the first three songs are the best songs ever written by Ash. Simple and great pop/rock songs. It is a pity that with all albums after this they never regained their former strength
This was a good return to form after the disappointing Nu-Clear Sounds album. Jam packed with memorable indie anthems such as Burn baby burn, Sometimes, Walking Barefoot, Nicole and Shining Light. Sadly a little too much filler and this would have been so much better as a 10 track album.
Very sweet album. Goes downhill after the first three tracks though.
I should add 'Shining Light' and 'Someday' are nearly as good.
I wish I could write something as great as 'Burn Baby Burn'. Something sublime about that one. Album is 2nd after A-Z Vol. 1 for me.
