I didn't have high hopes for this album when I saw all the 'feat.' in the track listing. Like all the album even the hidden track 14 (hidden tracks are usually best left hidden), though Africa Bamba is not that great.
Fun album! Some classics!

The fact that this album was played ad nauseum for a year or two, and features Santana partnering with Rob Thomas (gag!) overshadows the actual quality here. It's slick, overproduced and a little shallow, but it's still decent. Not worthy of the hype at the time, but not worth a huge backlash either.

This was a surprise for sure, that 25 years after being relevant, Santana would record one of the best albums of the year. He also brought in contributors of all types for this all-star affair, but the best moments on here are pure Santana.

My problem with this album is that while the singles are good enough, the rest of the album reminds me of walking through a mall or something. :/ (Edited)
