Santana , in my book, is up there with Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Page and King. One of the best rock guitarists of all time.

I lake the recent albums
Without question, one of the all-time great guitarists. The quintessential Latin band of the late 60's, early 70's. Essential album: Abraxas. Self-titled album is also excellent. I thought Supernatural was overrated.

Very creative and expressive guitarist, but his music is even further enhanced by his creative and effective employment of Afro-Caribbean percussion as well.
Love Santana's Abraxas! Started listening to it as an early teen when it came out. And it is still a top pick of mine.
Recording artists (including the producers and engineers) were learning to play with multi-track recording in this era.
Check out the 1st track on side A. "Singing Winds and Crying Beasts" but PUT ON HEADPHONES, lay back and close your eyes. Check out if the music passes back and forth through your head. It's very groovy!

Man I was so dumb. Or I was so young that I did enjoy Smooth from 99 that I didn't have the massive care for music that I do now. Decided to listen to Borboletta and so far it is incredible. Might have to get through a good chunk of his discog during the summertime.
Pretty underrated on BEA. The Best Guitarist ever IMO

Brilliant guitar player. Two vital and two decent albums in the 70s. One slightly misdirected 90s comeback that made tonnes of money. A bunch of easily overlooked other stuff.
