Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.1/100, a mean average of 75.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.5.

Edges of Twilight is an absolute trip. It is chockers full of awesome songs and very skilfully crosses over between the genres of rock, blues, folk and world music. This is where The Tea Party further developed the Eastern and Indian flavours explored in Splendor Solis, merging these sounds and concepts brilliantly with both the heavier rock songs and the more intimate folk songs on the album. The lead vocals by Jeff Martin pack a punch, with strong, brooding, metaphorical poetry to accompany amazing musicianship from this highly talented trio. There are many exotic stringed instruments used in this album, including sarod, sitar, oud, esraj and hurdy-gurdy to go with the straight up assault of bass, guitar, keyboards/piano and drums.
Love the Moroccan flavor The Tea Party produce. It's what gives them their own sound even though you can hear all their influences coming through. First two tracks, "Fire in the Head' & 'The Bazaar' being the best. Eases off a bit after that but still a great album

Ok it sounds a bit like Jim Morrison sings Led Zeppelin... who cares that much when the songs are so great ? Lyrics are a bit uninspired but the music is truly awesome, and every song really hits the mark. Sadly underated album.
My band fav. Not a bad live show at least back then they weren't.

Not too shabby... A little dated today, but this album ripped speaker covers in 1995.
