Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.7/100, a mean average of 71.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.2.

Very close to my favorite work by Manchester. As previously stated, quite underrated here as well.

Maybe Andy's best songwriting overall on one project. I love pretty much every song up to the title track, however the last 3 songs aren't as memorable for me and cause the album to lose some steam. But songs like Pensacola, Mighty, Pale Black Eye, and April Fool show the band's ability to cover a lot of stylistic ground but still maintain an identity, a real strength of this record.

Very underappreciated album. I sometimes forget, it really is just as good as Mean Everything To Nothing. And like METN, it beautifully blends a mix of alt-rock dynamics with intense, emotionally lyricism/vocals. I would have to agree with most, that Virgin and Simple Math are the best songs, but Leaky Breaks is equally awesome.

One of the most underrated albums of 2011. Though it drags on in parts, classics like the title song and Virgin make this a very beautiful record and one everyone should experience.

Very impressed by this! A lot going on and coming from the album. Pale Black Eye was a favorite. Prefered it when they turned the volume up. Might have to check out more from these if they are able to put out something like this. A frosty fun forbidden fun fest! Heavy on guitar and orchestra!

Really wish they would get more recognition. This is the best album of 2011 and hardly anyone ever mentions it. Awesome band, seeing them live in a couple weeks for the 3rd time.
