Well, this is different. I am actually struggling to come up with anything interesting to write about this album. It's so average, so middle-of-the-road that it turns forgettable in the same instant I've ploughed through it all. Almost every song sounds the same and there are no elements of the old Sheryl Crow left. This is more pop than rock now. It's not necessarily bad, it's just pretty bland. It's also sluggish and sleepy at times since Crow seems to have put the focus on slower, more melancholic songs this time around. Good is Good and Lifetimes emerge as the standouts of the first half, and even they're pretty forgettable when compared to her earlier standout songs.
The second half has some more energy to it. Live It Up is pretty close to Crow's earlier material and easily the strongest track on the album.

Good album. Best 10 songs average is 85,2/100 and the album can get good 85/100. Best song is "Letter to god" 90/100, followed by "Perfect lie", "Good is good", "Wildflower", "Lifetimes" and "I don't wanna know" all 85/100. All other songs in the average/only just good region of 75-80/100.

My favorite Sheryl Crow album -has some of her most touching lyrics and most hauntingly beautiful melodies. This not the album to get if you want catchy hooks or toe tapping rhythm - it is an album to listen to actively - not just in the background.

Softer and even more accessible. This is basically the point where I finally realized she wasn't gonna do another honestly good album and decided to stop buying from her. Maybe one day.
