Another solid latter-day Wishbone Ash album! Love the guitar solos.
Shockingly good album for being so late into these guys’ career. Amazing guitar work on every song (that’s no surprise with Wishbone Ash), with plenty of hard rock, prog, folk, and even jazz undertones like classic Ash. Songs like We Stand As One, Coat of Arms, Back in the Day, Empty Man, When the Love Is Shared, and Personal Halloween are just about as good as anything you’d hear from these guys in the ‘70s.
Surprisingly fresh sounding for a band of this vintage. Some proggy moments in the second half, and some characteristic Wishbone Ash touches like double guitar attacks. Even with only one original band member there is some continuity for those fans of the classics such as the Argus album.
