Serious female artists like Avril and Vanessa? HAHAHAHA. Now I'm not gonna argue that its the greatest album ever made or even the greatest this year (and I certainly wouldn't for the ho's you mentioned) but it's a well put together album and she has a killer voice, thats why she gets critical attention/good reviews (as opposed to the 2 you mentioned). As for her looks? you attack her looks? She's the best looking woman on the planet right now bar none. SO yeah.
The more I listen the greater it gets and I can't stop listening!! I kid you not this is one of the ten best albums of the year and one of the best pop records of this or the last decade.
Just listen to "run the world" to realise how terrible this whole album is. Truely shocking!

It's solid. I wouldn't call it refreshing, and suffers from being overlong. I could've done without Run The World, I'll admit. (Edited)
Yeah, "Run the World" is absolutely god awful. I mean really, they can't have honestly thought that was a good idea. Thank god its at the end. However, outside of that massive misstep, this is easily one of the best pop albums of the past decade or so. "Countdown" and "1+1" are easily among her best singles and the rest are very rarely less than great. For an artist who's as obviously as talented as Beyonce, it amazes me it took her as long as it did to finally release a great album, but here it is.
