Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 62.4/100, a mean average of 60.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 60.7/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 26.6.

pushed by the industry and that's all
She's being taught at YALE now... College has officially become a waste of money.
I think Beyonce is one of the few top-notch mainstream artists, who at least knows what good music is and tries to follow that path in many ways, and even though she doesn't make music like the greatest Rock bands, at least she is trying to make something different from the over-consumed pop products as I noticed. Maybe she started as a commercialized artist making hits and casual songs, but after "I AM... Sasha Fierce" she improved a lot, esp her album "Lemonade" which one of the best concept albums I've heard in mainstream music today. I think she is underrated in this website, so I'm giving her a high rating.
Doesn't know if she wants to be a social justice warrior or a pop star. Ends up being trash at both.
Beyoncé se afasta do R&b radiofônico (e muitas vezes xarope) e se aproxima da borda desse gênero. Os melhores do mundo são chamados para produzir sua maior surpresa!
After Sasha Fierce she really fell into her own. Every album afterwards was increasingly diverse yet part of a contained whole. She had made some comment like, up until IASF, she had to separate the two personas, then learned to meld them. And what a meld she molded. Obviously she has a huge team behind but they sure know how to make an album, or better yet, they're learning more and more each go around.
With my comment posted on 09/03/2011 01:03, I gave Beyonce 60. But now I'm updating my score to 85, because the last two albums of her, Beyonce and Lemonade, are definitely brilliant in a shocking way. She's not trying to follow the path of other divas at all, but on the very contrary, she's taking an approach to stray herself away from the massively molded, boring, annoying pop stars. She even experimented with music genres like rock, country and progressive music, and all her works that fall under these genres are not just mere attempts, but instead top-notch and high-quality works (such as Don't Hurt Yourself, Daddy Lessons, 6 Inch, Freedom etc.)! Now with a vocal technique of a diva and a taste in music production of a real musician, there are absolutely a lot more to be expected from Beyonce, who incarnates herself as a shiny rock star at times!
She is not up there yet with the great Pop Divas - Madonna, Janet Jackson, Mariah or Whitney but with the release of Lemonade in 2016 she is getting there. I originally gave her 65/100 but Lemonade lifts her to 70.
My feels towards Beyoncé are mixed. On one hand, her work with Destiny's Child provided the 2000s with some of pop's greatest dancefloor fillers. On the other hand, her first three studio albums were very calculated, overtly commercial, somewhat bland and downright predictable.
Thankfully '4', 'Beyonce' and 'Lemonade' have proven she's still got at least a little bit of life left in her.
Few good songs, but really overrated and over played just like typical poppy land music.
