I wonder if this album was made at the height/depth of Nicks' substance use issues - as the songs meander, contain inscrutable non-sequitur, and generally lack structure. Her voice sounds fine, but the material is weak. A huge misstep after her enjoyable first 3 solo endeavors.

there are some tracks on this album i really enjoy, but also some clunkers. i'm not a fan of Rupert Hine's synth-heavy production, and this album marks the point at which Stevie's writing started drifting toward more meandering lyrics and free-form song structures (e.g., Alice), and i'm not a big fan of her work after this album, although I still love most everything she did up to this point.
