I don't really know why, but I really love this album cover. It is as intriguing as the story behind the concept album itself. It tells the story of Hiroo Onada, an Intelligence Officer in the Japanese Imperial Army who held out for circa 30 years in the Philippines, not realising World War II ended in 1944. He was actually relieved of his duties in 1974 by his Commanding Officer! I know this album isn't regarded with the same respect as Mirage, Snow Goose et al but because of my love of the cover design, I happily forked out £15.00 for a near mint copy on vinyl last week. Despite a lot of fairly scathing reviews, I have to say that I wasn't at all disappointed, excellent album in my opinion.

Huge album, I don't get the hate.
A fully-fleshed prog-rock concept album (about an MIA Japanee WWII soldier) that was released in the post-punk era ... an A&R no-no.

a mainly calm and airy collection of dreamy and dissolute songs. i can listen to it in its entirety with a good feeling. but somehow it stays offish and therefore i cannot fall in love with it.
A beautifull concept album on the story of a forgotten US soldier of WWII on a lost islnad in the PAcific. A good mix of strumental and singed songs in pure Camel's style.
