This album sounds completely different from Vincent Liben's solo material, not least because it's sung in English (Liben and Mud Flow are from Belgium) and it's a full band. His solo material is pretty good too, but this is practically a revelation. Not to mention it's just a really well-made, well-written, well-played "oughties" indie pop/rock LP with just a hint of post-punk in there for... I dunno, whatever they used to put hints of post-punk in people's albums for back in those days. Admittedly, "Mud Flow" is one of the worst band names I can possibly imagine, but apparently that didn't stop them, at least not completely — they made four earlier albums, too! And if they're half as good as this one, then I guess this one is twice as good as them!
