Last Day of Summer is an inconsequential album in the White Denim catalog, unfortunately caught red-handed in the middle of a full transition from the garage rock of Fits to the prog psych found on D. The songs lack definition but there are brief glimpses of greatness to come: Champ, Tony Fatti, and even Light Light Light, which I personally wouldn't describe as "good", but rather very experimental in a way that's more musically advanced from the experiments found on Fits.
In short: An interesting record but not one that's worth a deep dive unless you're the type of person who enjoys walking in on someone with their pants down (to each their own on that one)!
