Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.4/100, a mean average of 75.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.2.

Primer álbum de una tetralogía impresionante. Lady D'Arbanville, Trouble, Maybe You're Right, Katmandu... ¡Vaya colección de canciones!
its ok, not his best. a song about your penis!!! lol

I find the second half of the album much better than the first one.

Favoritas: Lady D'Arbanville, Trouble, Maybe You're Right, Katmandu, Fill My Eyes
Cat's best album, IMO. The raw production most of the songs makes it hold up well almost 50 years later, I guess the acoustic nature of folk music is generally rather timeless in style. Funny piece of trivia: the name of the album was Cat's name for a certain, uh, masculine part of his body - which the tongue-in-cheek 6th track with the same name is also about. That song, and Popstar are the only real breaks in the otherwise dark tone of the album. Popstar is a funny but satirical reflection on the music industry after his experience with his former record label. Favorite songs (they're all good though!): Maybe You're Right, Trouble and Lady D'Arbanville.
This collection of songs is one of the 70s best kept secrets, despite its gold certification. The greatest album from Cat Stevens, and also his darkest and most melancholy. It was written from a hospital bed as Cat suffered from TB and was confined to bed for 2 years. Although not as dark/melancholy as Nick Drake's "Pink Moon", it perhaps covers a broader range of sounds and sentiments. Best tracks are Trouble, Lilywhite, Katmandu and Fill My Eyes. Although there isn't a single filler song on the album. Nick Drake fans (like myself) especially should check out this album, but anyone who enjoys folk is sure to appreciate it.

A good album by a compatriot. "Lady D'Arbanville" is just a beautiful song.
