Another excellent prog album from Wishbone Ash with folky themes. These guys were really on it in the 70s!
A great album that succeeds in its guitar work and versatility. There are fun blues rock tunes (Jail Bait, Where Were You Tomorrow), folk-prog (The Pilgrim, Valediction) and even a bit of hard jazz (Vas Dis). Wishbone Ash reached its peak with Argus but Pilgrimage is still worthy of being considered one of their best efforts.
No british band ever did the duel lead guitars as well as the Ash. The album is unsophisticated under produced and the lyrics an afterthought but that does not matter - just listen to the duelling guitars
