Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.3/100, a mean average of 70.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 23.0.

I hated the first version (S&M1), but I loved what I heard of the second version from hearing clips on YouTube, so I had to have S&M2. Absolutely loved every second of this!
The songs that were awesome to begin with - "For Whom the Bell Tolls", "Wherever I May Roam", "One", "Master of Puppets", etc. - remained just that. But there were several songs that felt like dramatic upgrades from the SF Symphony Orchestra, such as "Moth Into Flame" and "The Outlaw Torn." The Cliff Burton bass solo instrumental "(Anesthesia) - Pulling Teeth" was done beautifully by SF Symphony Orchestra member Scott Pungel and moved me to tears. Upon seeing reviews of the performance, I'm not the only one that felt this way.
S&M2 was so well done and a significant improvement over the original S&M from 20 years ago. If you didn't like the first one, give this one a try, and if you did like the first, what are you waiting for? Highly recommended.
