A below ordinary offering from the greatest songwriter of all time. Nothing here to recommend - even Brownsville Girl doesn't impress me. I'd feel embarrassed to recommend this album to anyone.
If this album had not contained the majestic Brownsville girl, it would have been one of the most pointless releases in music history. You really have to be extremely biased to find any other redeeming factors here. Having said that, some of it is just about bearable, I actually can just about enjoy the last track, under your spell, and got my mind made up, is just about above terrible. But as I said, Brownsville girl is where it's at on this record. Brilliant, possibly Bob's best song of the eighties. The rest? Forget it.
Only Brownsville Girl saves this album from being a waste of vinyl.
