This is neither the best of Dylan nor the best of Christmas. In the former case, it would be somewhere near the bottom of the stocking..
What can one say? There have been many artists who have done Xmas albums ~ so why not Bob? I have the album and I play it every Xmas ~ I find it adorable in a strange way ~ hilarious too ~ nice to share a part of Xmas with my favourite songwriter ~
Bob attempts to put together a collection of mainly traditional carols and favourites on here, my main gripe with it is that most of the time he sings them like a drunk Louis Armstrong impersonator (and normally I don't mind his latter era vocals). Didn't work for me

Hit and miss Christmas album. Here Comes Santa Claus opens up strong with Dylan's vocals doing the song justice, and Hark the Herald Angel Sings is quite soothing despite the ever-present raspy grit. Too many of the standards unfortunately fall flat, but the whimsy of Must Be Santa shows up just past the midpoint and makes it worthwhile.

Che Dylan riesca quasi sempre a stupire non è una novità da molto tempo; che riuscisse a farlo, però, pubblicando un disco natalizio per beneficenza non era ancora accaduto. Accadde nel 2009 e le canzoni di Natale, nelle mani di Dylan, perdono quel buonismo esasperato, falso, ipocrita per conservare solamente la bontà che quelle canzoni dovrebbero trasmettere, insieme ad un senso di sicurezza e di calore.

Bob Dylan isn't well suited to carols, but this is still better than "Down In The Groove".

This is seriously hilarious! He sounds like a drunk homeless man half the time. Top of my list for funniest Christmas albums.

Look! As a Christmas album this ain't half bad! Actually it's quite good in parts. My fave Xmas record, outside of Charlie Brown.
