Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.4/100, a mean average of 68.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.4.

This is the nadir for me. I don't love 1971s Wild Life or 1973s Red Rose Speedway, but they were weird and charming in their imperfection. This just feels like the most bland, MOR stuff. As usual with McCartney, there's some decent tracks here: the title track is nice, as is Hope of Deliverance; one of the remaining Costello co-writes, Mistress and Maid is a great song, though could have benefited, once again, from a rawer production style; the same could be said of The Lovers That Never Were; and the ballads Golden Earth Girl and Winedark Open Sea are pleasant. But none of these songs ascend to "greatest McCartney songs" for me, whether due to songwriting or production. I do appreciate the political engagement here, but it just doesn't add up to a very rewarding experience. And it has the terrible Biker Like An Icon on it - one of Paul's worst tracks, in my opinion.
A decent McCartney offering. Nothing objectionable and nothing memorable either. My personal favorite track is "Winedark Open Sea". That song has a relaxed feel, and passionate delivery. Not a fan of the 2-3 overly politically preachy songs, but different strokes as the saying goes. Of interest to fans and non-fans alike.
An easy listening album from McCartney here, the first three tracks are good the rest is average for me but not bad.
The dull brother of 'Flowers in the dirt'.
The follow up to, flowers in the dirt, off the ground is of similar stock. It features pretty much the same band and includes a couple of Elvis Costello co-writes. The title track kicks things off, and is actually one of my favourite songs on the album, and it's followed by, looking for changes, a seldom heard angry McCartney. Hope of deliverance, the single, is a nice acoustic track, and the Costello co-writes, mistress and maid, and, the lovers that never were, are both good. C'mon people, has a kind of John Lennon, imagine/give peace a chance, feel to it, and, biker like an icon, is a typical quirky McCartney moment. There's some good stuff here, from the ballads, winedark open sea, and, golden earth girl, to the more rocking, get out of my way, and, peace in the neighborhood. off the ground, is not quite as strong as, flowers in the dirt, but it is a decent McCartney album.
Good album. Best 10 songs average is 82,0/100 and the album can get good 80/100. Best song is "Hope of deliverance" 90/100, followed by "Off the ground" 85/100. All other songs average/only just good.
Genre: Pop Rock, Rock
Solid album, enjoyable
Easy to listen to, but doesn't offer many memorable cuts. Hope of Deliverance is a classic, though.
Hope of Deliverance and Winedark Open Sea are the best tracks here along with the title track and C'mon People. Not a great McCartney album but not bad either. A pleasant listen.
