i was skeptical of this album when i first heard about it, because Loveless is my all-time favorite, but i think Japancakes did a great job of translating the album into an entirely different genre and instrumentation.

It's extremely difficult for any band to pull off a cover of Loveless and My Bloody Valentine and emphasize the balance of melodies and distortion. I'm glad this was a little different with a bit more synthesizers and loud guitar parts. Japan-cakes I thought was a generic Post-Rock band, but they managed to prove they are more diverse then what we see. Just a really dandy cover record. Honestly no complaints except for minor Post-Rock playing a part in how the record plays.

Accidentally came across this whilst looking for the actual "Loveless" Needless to say I am intrigued!
Giving it a go now, Only Shallow is pretty good so far :D

Well that was odd, I was not expecting it to like it quite so much, definitely going on the decade chart
