The previous review said it perfect. This is a great guitar based rock album. Unfairly lumped in with the screamo bands, thrice has always been much more of a straight ahead rock band, with experimental leanings on later albums. This album isn’t there yet though, this is an in your face rock record. Kinda like a mix of early Metallica with nirvana, then throw in some melodic punk. I don’t know, give it a try, it’s a great album. A big influence on me as a youth.
This album is great, very much energy and a very original yet recognizable sound. They really took the best of Post-Hardcore, Melodic hardcore, Metalcore, Skate Punk and Emo into a great punchy package.
Probably my favorite Thrice album
