I see there are different opinions about this matter, but I think the album got better thanks to the remix. The outstanding tracks have not been changed, which to be honest wasn't necessary as they were already legendary. But the magic of this remix is in the not so memorable tracks, where the album got a bit boring in my opinion. Now is a bit more listenable than before, so it deserves the 9/10 (I'd give an 8/10 to the original record).
WOW this thing is brickwalled to hell. Listen to the intro of Plug In Baby for the most egregious example, the sheer difference in volume from 0:10 to 0:12 makes me seriously question who made this. The original is still widely available so I'm not gonna riot or even rate this thing, but I was pretty excited to hear a remixed take on this album and am left disappointed. For the most part, I actually like the choices they made; it's just that they compressed the mix of this dynamic prog-influenced album to the point that it's near unlistenable.
This is basically an anniversary reissue and not a different album. Sounds a little bit better, than the original because you can hear more details and some extra instruments, but the songs and tracklist did not change.

Don't get me wrong, I love Muse and I love Origin of Symmetry, but IMO it's hard to consider this its own album. Some tracks sound barely remixed (New Born), and others just add one or two backing instruments. That's basically it. On Megalomania, the addition of strings distracts from the organ which forms the centerpiece of this song. Citizen Erased and Micro Cuts seem like the most "remixed" adding strings and harpsichord. For the most part, this is more of a remaster than anything. And quite frankly a poor remaster at that, it seems like there's a lot more audio clipping on this version than the original version I own. The "remastered" album artwork is pretty cool though.
