There's no one song that is on the level of Where It's At on this album, but all the songs are solid. A Beck album can always be hit or miss (even Odelay) but this seems to be his most complete album. The variety is very good, going from rockers like E-Pro to poppy hits like Girl to more soulful tracks like Missing and Earthquake Weather and funny tracks like Hell Yes and Que' Onda Guero. Recommended.
I love the back to back Sea Change and Guero releases. These two are my personal favorite albums of his. He jumps a lot of genre territory here but it all sounds very professional and accomplished.
Scarecrow is a fantastic song. So is E-Pro and Girl
Second best Beck by my count. All of his releases are typically solid (80) or at least original (Odelay). Only Guero and Sea Change enter excellent status
The first 5 tracks are something close to a tight masterpiece of seperate stories, and while I feel this sort of/kinda continues out throughout the album, it loses a lot of it's attractiveness just through lack of peculiarities tied with symptomatic excite. That isn't to say it's a hit n miss, in fact it's all a hit, with such colorful writing it's like Beck just knows how to combine all his favorite types of poetry and music into one. Story-driven, jigsaw puzzles, verse-chorus-verse melodies, experimentation with combining of seperate genres. From paper to real this is his best album to show people who have never heard of Beck before.

Probably my favourite Beck album. Very few weak tracks. And great layered production by the Dust Brothers. Full of quirky details. Best songs- Guero, Girl, Scarecrow, Missing.

It's possible to think of this as almost a sequel to Odelay. In some ways, then, a return to form. The hits like ePro and Girl are fine but I love the shuffle-demon Beck that shows up for Missing and Scarecrow then mumbles his way through Go it Alone. The crazy kiddie chorus that suddenly jumps into Rental Car (before being displaced by another juxtaposition, fuzz guitar) is simultaneously hilarious and brilliant. In the end, this is all, from start to finish, just more solid proof that the man is a genius.
