I think this album can be best described as good old-fashioned indie rock. This is what indie rock sounded like when it started, this is the core of indie rock. We Were Promised Jetpacks does a pretty good job of taking that sound and making good music with it. Here and there there’s a song that is just alright, but for the most part, this album is very good. It’s not an album about single instrumentation, but rather about the arrangement. You’re not going to find crazy guitar solos or anything. What you’ll find is a lot of layers that all come together to make good music. And good music is exactly what this album is.
