The album title is incorrect, this was recorded in 1969. Regardless, this follows the 1968 Democratic National Convention protests, which had a huge effect on Phil Ochs' disillusionment with the United States.
Ochs' dry humor his on full display here. He's clearly pissed off about the state of his country, the world, and the people who hold back progress. His humor and anger blend beautifully into a series of witty protest songs.
