Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.4/100, a mean average of 67.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.9.

A very good debut album. Some people call it "Britpop," and while it has some elements of that, it really feels more like it's influenced by "The La's." It doesn't quite have the songwriting strength of Barlow, but it is varied and takes risks that "Take that" would never take. 9/10!

Post Brit-pop influences work quite nicely but the album has too many not-so-good songs. The 5 singles are good.

At times derivative of Britpop groups such as Oasis, Blur and Pulp but some great pop tracks in here, and is probably Robbie's best album. Let Me Entertain You does what it says on the tin for me (albeit maybe after a few drinks) as it is great fun

Much better than the average rating of 71 would indicate. Angels has been overplayed but is still a great song.

A catchy debut album of cheeky pop, with a hint of Britpop
