Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.1/100, a mean average of 74.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.1.

Fantastic album, a starting point for many. Try to Sleep and Especially Me are examples of some of their most accessible work, they are incredible songs.
Belle melodie con un andazzo un po' malato, che sa un po' di perdizione. Purtroppo anche tanto ripetitive e con ritmi quasi sempre molto lenti.
This was the first album that introduced me to this truly singular band. It's actually a good starting point as it contains many of the styles of music they have explored over 20 years!
The album was recorded in a church. When you listen armed with the knowledge it seems patently obvious, especially the monumental Nothing but Heart; my favourite guitar track this century. The Great Distroyer is still my favourite Low album, it's on my chart. This one will be if I ever get to being allowed 100!
A beautiful and perfect piece of work. Flawless and and a very coherent album. My 40th favorite album of all time.
