Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 68.7/100, a mean average of 67.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 67.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.1.

"Slang" was Def Leppard's attempt to adopt alternative rock into their sound. That didn't work out so well. It also didn't help that the band members experienced a lot of personal tragedy and didn't have "mutt" lange around. The Leppard hooks were largely absent.

Fast-forward 3 years and Def Leppard returned to the pop-rock sound all their fans were accustomed to. "Euphoria" should've been the follow-up to "Adrenalize" as it continues their wall of vox, rockin' guitars and heightened, catchy choruses. Prime examples that try to unearth the larger-than-life fun of the "Hysteria" days are "promises" and "back in your face". For a band possibly 10 years past its expiration date, Def Leppard still are more than a sell-out shell of their former selves on "Euphoria".

The most overlooked DL masterpiece! Don't know why, because it's really up there with their finest material. In fact is so good that I often play it more than 'Pyromania'.
The first 3 songs are pure DL rock-in-your-face. 'Goodbye' is a great slow song. 'All Night' and '21st Century Girl' are the only songs that I don't like.
I've always liked the lesser-known DL classics ('Gods of War', 'White Lightning') and this album does deliver 'Paper Sun', 'Day after Day' or 'Kings of Oblivion'.

If you want to listen to DL other than the famous "trilogy" 'Pyromania'-'Hysteria'-'Adrenalize' this is the album to go.
Highly, highly recommended.
