Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a mean average rating of 80.0/100. The trimmed mean (excluding outliers) is 80.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.1.

Favourite track: "Mass Production"
Least-favourite track: "Tiny Girls"
Love this Station to station - Low sound, bowie music at his best, iggy vocals very mysterious and dark, good album
Another album I've loved for years. The opener Sister Midnight is one of my favourite all time tunes - it featured as Red Money on Bowie's Lodger album with different lyrics (and I love that version too).
Also featuring here and to appear later on Bowie is China Girl - again like both versions but prefer Iggy's. Finally, must mention Nightclubbing - there isn't a bad track on this album although Mass Production and Dum Dum Boys won't please everyone. Sadly for me it's just dropped out of my personal top 100 however
Iggy prova que é mais do que atitude!
Mass production. Brilliant.
“Sister Midnight” and “China Girl” are iconic, but that’s it. Makes me wonder whether I shouldn’t actually call this a Bowie album.
This is what happens when you combine Lou Reed, Bowie and Iggy Pop.
The boozier sibling to Lust for Life. Also vital.
A really solid record for Iggy, and a unique sound overall
As much Bowie's album as it is Iggy's, this is a great complement to Bowie's 1977 albums "Low" and ""Heroes"". Very much in the same art rock vein, it's a great album, but in my opinion is the weakest of the three.
