Krautrock meets Garage Rock in a nocturnal album with a plenty of industrial influence. Maybe the birth of Post-Punk. (Edited)
Another album I've loved for years. The opener Sister Midnight is one of my favourite all time tunes - it featured as Red Money on Bowie's Lodger album with different lyrics (and I love that version too).
Also featuring here and to appear later on Bowie is China Girl - again like both versions but prefer Iggy's. Finally, must mention Nightclubbing - there isn't a bad track on this album although Mass Production and Dum Dum Boys won't please everyone. Sadly for me it's just dropped out of my personal top 100 however (Edited)

Honestly I don't get the love for this album. Bowie's production is great but this is a very uninspired collection of songs. Not bad, but nothing too remarkable and after 3 listens nothing jumped out at me. It doesn't help that Iggy's voice doesn't sound great when he's coming like he does here -it creates kind of a creepy vibe but not one that's too interesting to me. Definitely a solid record, but not remarkable for me to come back to again.

I actually miss the... raw power in his solo releases, still this and "Lust for Life" are both masterpieces. Iggy + Bowie = mindblowing ! Of the 2 albums, "The Idiot" is my favourite : dark and sexy. Oh, and it has "China Girl" :)
Perhaps became famous for being Ian Curtis's last album he played before his death. A cool album and Iggy Pop found a new sound and style thanks too Bowie.
