Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. “Honestly, Nevermind” sees Drake switch out hip hop for house. The instrumentals are firmly okay. The occasional flourish of guitar or drum will add some flavor ,but it remains mediocre house. The exception to this is “Currents” with its awful bed creaking sample. It’s tacky, distracting and the worst sound choice I’ve heard in a long time. The real limiter of the album is Drake himself. Over the course of the album, he delivers zero vocals with any emotional depth. It really makes the record feel sterile at its core.
