I just don't get any of his hype. His raps are weak and soft, and his lyrics are just mediocre. People say they listen to him for emotion but damn its just not catchy or enjoyable music. If I want emotional hip-hop/R&B I feel like Kid Cudi or Frank Ocean just makes Drake look like an amateur. Even The Weeknd is way better than this dude and I'm not a huge fan of him either.
People put him at #1 but I can think of at LEAST 30 other rappers more talented. (Edited)
Drake certainly has talent, but it is wasted on him chasing mainstream status. His music is calculated and therefore cold. It does not come from the heart as so many would have you believe. It's made to generate cash flows, and at that, it is quite good. (Edited)

alright, so drake may be my favorite artist of all-time
there's something about his music that resonates with me like no other artists has
the whole "introspective even at the party" attitude he has matches with me exactly and i couldn't be more appreciative that i can latch onto an artist like i can drake
everything he has released since so far gone has been flawless to me and i don't expect that to change anytime soon
i don't expect everyone to get his motive/meaning, but for those who do, i'm sure we can all bask in the glory that is drake (Edited)
