Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.3/100, a mean average of 74.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.2.

Fine collective of musicians on what was a bit of a side project. With Damon Albarn on vocals, it's a slight mix of, but is sounding more Blur than Gorillaz. Some good tracks. Bit of filler but overall a decent listen.

It's so much Damon on this record. It could have been the Gorillaz album after Demon Days. I like it, but it feels more like a lot of leftovers from Damon that he has spent a lot of time on.

Too underrated. The atmosphere is great and the songs are very well written and performed.

Average pop/rock album. Best 5 songs average is 73/100, album gets 70/100. During listening it from beginning to the end, it's getting more and more boring and annoying from song to song. Always the same sound and Albarn's wailing. Best song is "80's life" 80/100, followed by "Green fields" 75/100. All other songs 70/100 and below. Maybe I have to listen the album several times to get a feeling for it?! But there are so many others, so I won't do this today or tomorrow.

Not as good as any of the Gorillaz releases, but I love it all the same. Herculean and the title track make the album.

As an old school Blur fan I wish Albarn would release more music like this than Gorillaz. By far one of the best things he's done in ages.

Green Fields is a lovely song. This one annoyed me when it first came out because I wanted the next Gorillaz album which I must add escaped my teen years. As I type this I have a strange desire to try this one again. Have to find it. I got a copy when it first came out which I listened to like twice.

Great album, I love the atmosphere on this record. It feels a little bit as if I'm listening to a new modern Syd Barrett-album. One of my favourites.
