Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.9/100, a mean average of 74.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.7.

What a wonderful surprise! This was very enjoyable. Other comments have noted similarities to Pink Floyd and Tame Impala, but I think there is influence from The Weeknd and Kid Cudi here too. Even though his sound has been elevated with these new sonic pallets, he still sounds like the same artist who released the Lil Boat mixtape back in 2016, which was a project that I liked and thought was good. Don't miss this one. Recommended for fans of hip-hop, modern R&B, and psychedelic pop.
Just a few years ago this guy was saying stuff like "she blow that dick like a cello" and "she my step sister so I guess that's incest" and now he's making one of the best psych rock / pop / soul albums I've heard in a minute. This might be the biggest left turn in music since Kid A.
Wow, this was unexpected! In a shocking twist, Lil Yachty completely switches up his sound and makes a great psych rock album that takes clear influence from acts like Tame Impala and Pink Floyd. Not every track is amazing, but overall this is an incredibly solid effort.
In a world of rappers making 40 track double albums of filler with added deluxe editions, Lil Yachty decides to go down this route. Regardless of whether you like it or it not, you have to respect the U-Turn from him. I happen to think it's pretty damn good.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Lil Yachty might've just released album of the year. It's a bit early in the year to tell, but it's gonna be pretty hard to beat this.
