Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 18% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.9/100, a mean average of 74.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.2.

I saw this album listed as a pick on AllMusic. I listened to this 3 times through over 2 days. Sorry, I can't recommend it. I love electric blues, and I like a lot of punk. A lot of the lyrics are unclear, there's a lot of unpleasant noise -- the word cacophony comes to mind. If you like bluesy rock, punk, or electric Chicago style blues -- I'd suggest your time would be far better spent listening to The Black Keys, The White Stripes, X, The Sex Pistols, The Buzzcocks, Public Image Limited, Social Distortion, Buddy Guy, or Muddy Waters.

Dirty fat lumps of punk blues. Think I'd best check my cholesterol levels once this bad boy's done.

The whole album is worth it for Afro. After that, the other tracks are pure butter.
